Picking up a found pet
The Department of Agriculture has set times for visiting/picking up pets from the shelter. This is Monday – Friday 12:00 pm – 12:30pm and 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. There is a fee of $25.00 and $10.00 per day for each day the dog is at the shelter.

Licensing your dog is the Law! Register your dog at the Department of Agriculture or the Humane Society. Licensing is quick and simple and allows the DOA or Humane Society to contact owners, if their dog is picked up, and reunite them with their pet. Licensing is free!

Microchipping is a method of permanent identification which is done by inserting an electronic chip under the skin of your pet. Microchips are proving to be particularly useful in returning animals home and are administered by a veterinarian. Make sure you register your microchip number with the company and the DOA and at local veterinary clinics

Animals are picked up and kept for 7 days in accordance with The Animal Law of The Cayman Islands.

To help avoid unwanted euthanasia: License and microchip your pet!
